The characteristically cold air immediately hits us as we step outside. Our trusted vehicle, a sturdy Jeep 4x4, is waiting. The roar of its engine is like a drumbeat for the start of this epic journey. Leaving the city lights behind us, we drive through the darkness toward the Tengger Mountains.
